Event Type: Study Event, 2 Team Members

Short Description: Teams will answer questions, solve problems, and analyze data pertaining to classic, evolutionary, and molecular genetics.

Materials: 2 calculators, 1 cheat sheet

General Overview:

• Mendelian Genetics: Inheritance, heredity, punnett squares, pedigrees, etc.

• Mitosis & Meiosis: Key structures and stages, describe nondisjunction & other abnormalities

• Evolutionary Genetics: Understand various relationships that contribute to evolution, use phylogenetic trees, etc.

• Molecular Biology of DNA: understand different components of DNA, how DNA can be damaged, etc.

• Lots of other bio stuff i’m too lazy to write down (sorry -_-)

• You learn a lot of this in Bio class!
